The Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) is the largest annual science event held for students throughout Manitoba. MSSS is held the final week of April at the University of Manitoba and is open to all students from grades 4 to 12.

Each year, some 550 young scientists attend MSSS to present their research to top scientists and industry experts. The student participants can present their work in nine divisions and four age categories for medals, specials awards, scholarships, program enrollments and trips worth over $30,000.

Check out the University of Manitoba’s Three Minute Thesis Competition Final on March 6th! See 9 graduate students present their reasearch discoveries in three minutes to a panel of judges! The winner is awarded $5,000!

New Project Display System at CWSF

Students should be aware that project displays at the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) must now be in a two-panel format. MSSS will accept the new two-panel display that is approved by the National Science Fair Committee, but it is not mandatory. You can check out the guidelines for a two-panel project display on the Canada-Wide Science Fair website here.
