Invent an Alien

32st Annual Invent An Alien Competition

This year, 2017 marks the thirty-second year of the Invent an Alien Competition. It is an exciting year as this year’s alien will be coming from Europa. Europa is one of Jupiter’s moons, is a water world with a thick ice crust. Jupiter’s gravity creates tides that pull on the surface and crack it. It has the smoothest surface in our solar system. NASA scientists think that it is one of the likeliest places in our solar system to support life. This should lead to the creation of many original aliens!

The Provincial Invent Alien competition will be held in the Max Bell Centre at the University of Manitoba on Saturday April 22nd with set-up being on Thursday the 20th. On Friday the 21st students are invited to attend the opening ceremonies and attend a one day science conference. There is no limit on the amount of projects a school can send. Entry deadline is April 14th .

Invent an Alien is unique in that it allows students to research, create and present a new biological entity. It also allows them to fully participate in the Manitoba Schools’ Science Symposium. They can see what other creatures students have created and also view the hundreds of great projects on display in the regular fair.

Si vous faites ce projet en français, c’est une occasion merveilleuse d’inciter vos élèves de s’exprimer !!
